South Florida Law Firm Embraces Old-Fashioned Values and New Ideas
Thursday, May 24, 2007In many ways, Ellis, Ged & Bodden is an old fashioned law firm. They sponsor a softball team at the YMCA, support the local Boy Scout troop and have staff picnics. In time honored tradition, they also get a majority of their clients as a result of personal referrals.
The attorneys at Ellis, Ged & Bodden, P.A., are proud of their role in the community, but don’t confuse traditional values with a lack of modern business savvy. The steady growth that the Boca Raton-based firm has experienced over the past ten years is the result of sound planning and creative marketing. In an effort to both expand its client base and expand the services offered to that base, the firm has, among other things, opened satellite offices on the west coast of Florida, launched a title company (1st Florida Title) and mortgage brokerage (1st Florida Mortgage) and sponsored an annual Latin Festival.
More recently, Ellis, Ged & Bodden has been engaged in the process of revamping its Internet presence. “Some law firms now get as much as 75 percent of their new business through online marketing,” Glen Ged, a founding partner in the firm says, “We wanted to make sure that people could find our website easily and could easily find the information they were looking for once they got there.” The newly redesigned website (www.ellisandged.com) is scheduled to make its debut on May 24.
In addition to providing information regarding the firm’s areas of practice, location, 60-plus member staff and the six languages they speak, the new site is strategically built for search engine performance. Regular reports on web traffic and activity will help to ensure the site performs effectively. Future plans to capitalize on the potential of the Internet include the addition of an e-newsletter and/or attorney blog.
